Project overview

Shrimetals Recycling Pty Ltd, based in New South Wales, Australia, is a leading scrap metal processor specializing in non-ferrous and general metal collection for industrial and residential clients. Jevm.com was engaged to transform their digital presence—designing and developing a modern, responsive website with streamlined service discovery, clear service calls, mobile-first UX, and environmental storytelling to support brand credibility and lead generation.

Challenges & constraints

Prior to engagement, the website presented minimal information—generic service lists and outdated visuals. Navigation was unclear, service options for pickups and drop-offs were buried, and desktop-first design resulted in poor mobile usability. The site lacked brand narrative, eco-friendly messaging, structured service paths, and easy contact or lead capture methods. The content CMS had no scalability for adding new services or locations.

Projects solution

    • UX Redesign & Clarified Navigation: Introduced dedicated pages for Residential Drop-Off, Industrial Pick-Up, and Materials Accepted. A visible contact form and phone CTA were placed in the header for instant lead capture.

    • Responsive Performance Build: Implemented clean, mobile-first layouts with optimized imagery and iconography. Leveraged CDN and asset minification to speed load times across devices.

    • Visual Identity & Trust: Populated service pages with real-world images of material types (e.g., copper, aluminum, steel) to reassure users of expertise. Added eco messaging and “eco-friendly recycling” badges for credibility.

    • Content Structuring & Scalability: Built the site on WordPress with modular templates enabling Shrimetals’ team to easily add new service offerings, locations, blog updates, and FAQs without developer support.

    • Lead Capture & Local Focus: Embedded custom forms with automation for free pickup requests and drop-off inquiries. Added a location-based map with operating hours and regional filters to serve NSW, Victoria, and South Australia .

  • The redesigned website now clearly communicates Shrimetals’ comprehensive service options, generating qualified inquiries directly through prominent CTAs. Mobile visits are shorter and more efficient, with faster engagement and lower bounce rates. The modular backend equips the team to expand regionally and share sustainability-focused messaging, reinforcing the brand as an eco-conscious, customer-first recycler.
